RULE #1  IF YOU DON’T LOVE IT, DON’T PACK IT – SIMPLE!

We’ve all been on those holidays where we return with so many items still folded and unworn. Learn from your mistakes and only pack items you love as they are the what you’ll return to time and time again.

RULE #2  PICK A COLOUR SCHEME & STICK TO IT

All items you pack must match and be interchangeable with each other. This allows multiple combinations with practically no effort to look classy each day. Stay with the classic basics so you don’t look back and think ‘what the heck was I thinking!’ Your theme could be black, grey and stripes or a softer palette or denim, blue and whites but remember, the lighter the colour, the more chance of becoming dirty and you’ll be searching for a laundromat.

RULE #3  THIS IS A TOUGH ONE: LIMIT YOURSELF TO TWO …OR THREE PAIRS OF SHOES

You really don’t need more!  A pair of sneakers, sandals and possibly a third dressier option shoe or boot depending on the weather at your destination. You’ll likely do a fair amount of walking, so keep this in mind.

RULE #4  LIMIT YOUR HANDBAGS

Come on ladies, we can do this! No more than one purse. cross body shoulder bag or backpack. Your day bag should be of a size to carry a water bottle, some cash and any other basics for the day. Never carry your passport in your purse with you. Keep it in the safe in your hotel room.

EXTRA TIP

The key to having many combinations from just a few items is layering. Make sure your tops are thin enough to layer and have coordinating colours. Bring at least one piece of jewellery and a pair of earrings that can dress up your looks for the evening.
